Election Information

The Walker City Clerk's Office oversees all elections for the City, federal, state and county government, including school elections for portions of Comstock Park, Kenowa Hills, and Grandville school districts. The Clerk's Office is committed to providing safe and secure elections and ensuring voting is accessible for all eligible City residents.


For election results, visit Kent County Election Results. Preliminary results will be posted on Election night when all precincts and absentee results are complete and reported.

Upcoming Election Days

  • November 4, 2025

All polling precincts are open from 7 am to 8 pm on Election Day and are handicapped accessible.

The Michigan Bureau of Elections has created a YouTube video for Michigan voters, "A Voter's Guide to Voting", which explains what to expect when you appear at your voting location on election day.

Early Voting

There will be no early voting held for the November 4, 2025 election as it is not a state or federal election.  


Voter Registration

To register to vote, visit any Secretary of State's Office, the Clerk's Office or return the completed voter registration application to the Clerk's Office. Eligible voters that have a Michigan driver's license or Michigan state ID can register online at the Michigan Voter Information Center at Michigan.gov/VoterRegistration.

Verify You are Registered to Vote

Contact the Clerk's Office or visit the Michigan Voter Information Center of the State of Michigan website to determine if you are registered in the City of Walker. Also, visit the Michigan Election and Voter Information page where you can look up your voter status, register to vote, and it also provides candidate information links and lots of other useful information.

Absentee Voting

All registered voters in Michigan can vote by mail using an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots are anticipated to be mailed out the last week of September for those who have requested one. Ballots are also available 40 days before any election in-person during normal business hours at the Clerk's Office, or by filling out an application for an absentee ballot.

Apply for an Absentee Ballot Online - Submitting a request using this hyperlink submits the application automatically to the City Clerk's Office. We will receive the completed application and mail out your absentee ballot.

Apply for an Absentee Ballot by Mail - You can download the form using this hyperlink and return it by mail or drop it in one of the City's designated elections drop box. You can also email the signed and completed application. Once your application is received, your absentee ballot will be mailed to you.

Military personnel or U.S. citizens currently overseas, visit the federal voting assistance program website for Federal Postcard Application Instructions or contact the Clerk's Office with any questions.
