The City of Walker is excited to announce the launch of the Next Gen Academy, a new program designed to engage young adult leaders in the inner workings of local government. Building on the success of the Mayor’s Youth Academy, this initiative aims to inspire residents 18 years and older to actively contribute to the future of Walker.
Program Highlights
Purpose: Participants will learn about local government operations, join meaningful discussions, and influence decision-making processes.
Schedule: Monthly meetings from February through September, held on the last Tuesday of each month from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
Location: All meetings will take place in the Commission Chambers.
Who Can Apply
Walker residents aged 18 and older who are passionate about their community and eager to make a difference.
Applications for the Next Gen Academy are now open and must be submitted by January 31.
