[ARCHIVED] Weekend Closure of I-96 for Fruit Ridge Bridge Demolition

Drivers should prepare for major road closures as crews work to remove the Fruit Ridge Avenue bridge over I-96. A full closure of I-96 is scheduled for the weekend of April 4-7.

Key Closures:

I-96 Eastbound and Westbound: Closed Friday, April 4 at 7 PM to Monday, April 7 at 6 AM
3 Mile Road (Kinney Avenue to Elmridge Drive): Closed Friday, April 4 at 6 PM to Monday, April 7 at 6 AM

Access to businesses along 3 Mile Road will remain open.

Detour Routes:

Westbound I-96: Exit at Fruit Ridge and re-enter using the on-ramps. No access to Fruit Ridge Avenue.
Eastbound I-96: Exit at Fruit Ridge and re-enter using the on-ramps. No access to 3 Mile Road.
Southbound Fruit Ridge: Use 4 Mile Road to Walker Avenue to 3 Mile Road.
Northbound Fruit Ridge: Use 3 Mile Road to Walker Avenue to 4 Mile Road.
